How to register your warranty, and what it covers
Warranty terms differ across the Kelvin range, and the honest thing is to say so plainly rather than print one number everywhere. Here is what applies to each tool, taken from our policy, and how to use it.
The terms
- Kelvin 36, Kelvin 36 SL and Kelvin 23: a 10-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship.
- Kelvin 8 Emergency Multi-Tool: a 1-year manufacturer's warranty.
- Kelvin 17: a 90-day warranty.
- Retractor, Retractor Auto Advance, Retractor Mini, PakRatchet, Kelvin 07 and Glamsockets: contact us with your order number and we will confirm the terms for your tool.
Each product page shows its own term under the buy button, and the full text lives in the refund and warranty policy.
What is covered
Defects in materials or workmanship: a bit holder that does not lock, a tape that fails to retract, a flashlight that stops working, a casting with a flaw. If the tool was used as intended and something in it failed, that is a warranty claim.
What is not covered
Kelvin tools are designed for light to medium duty. Breakage from heavy-duty use or abuse, such as using the hammering surface as a framing hammer or the screwdriver arm as a pry bar, is outside the warranty. So is normal wear on bits, which are consumables on any tool.
Register your tool
Registration takes about two minutes on the warranty registration page. You need the model and your order number or receipt. Registering is not required to make a claim, but it means we already have the details when you need us, and it is the easiest way to keep the receipt from going missing.
Making a claim
- Email emailus@kelvintools.com with clear photos of the problem, about fifty words describing what happened, and your original proof of purchase or order number.
- We review it and confirm the next step, which is usually an exchange or a refund.
- If a return is needed, we send the address. Please include your name and order number inside the package.
Returns that are not warranty
Changed your mind, wrong colour, wrong person: non-warranty returns need a return authorisation within 30 days of receipt. Email first, then ship. Refunds go back to the original payment method, typically within 3 to 8 business days of the return arriving.
